The jade roller. Just another hot beauty trend that everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is trying. But facial massaging isn’t that new. Kim Kardashian, other celebrities and skincare-obsessed normal folk have been doing it for a hot minute.
Benefits of facial massaging include increased circulation, wrinkle prevention, helping the under eye bag situation and it also helps with lymphatic drainage. What’s more to love? So when my friend Lauren got a jade roller (and she is very on trend with everything), I just had to get one. Naturally, I went to Amazon and bought one immediately. This one in fact:
It only took me one try to be impressed. First I put on some rosehip seed oil, then I went to rolling away. After about 15 minutes of rolling, I was able to identify an actual jawline. Like, “Hello, jawline. Long time no see.” We all hold water in our faces, but my face seems to hold an aggressive amount. So to find something that can push all of that out… LIFE CHANGING.
So how do you use it? It’s pretty simple, but if you’re going to do it you better do it right. Start in the center of your face and roll out, picking up the roller each time. You never want to roll down, always up and out. Pro tip: Keep your jade roller in the fridge. The stone naturally stays cool but the chill from the fridge makes it even better. It also helps with puffiness!
Jade rolling has become my favorite part of my nightly routine. Not only does it make my skin look great, but it’s a great stress reliever. I hold SO much stress in my face, but when I’m laying in bed, watching Girls and jade rolling, all that stress just melts away.
